Farmhouse description
The farm estate is an extensive property that extends over 55 hectares, 11 of which are dedicated to vineyards for the production of D.O.C. wines, 2 of which are dedicated to olive groves, 11 hectares of pine woods and the remaining area of the farm are fields of golden wheat. The estate is situated in the heart of Tuscany’s Maremma near Grosseto (9 km), and no more than a 15 minute drive from the sandy beaches of the Natural Park of Maremma. Set on a hill top at 127 metres above sea level the accommodation offers superb views of the Tyrrhenian Coast from Marina di Alberese to Castiglione della Pescaia, the Tuscan archipelago islands, Roselle and of Mount Amiata, Maremma's highest mountain and our nearest ski field.
In this unspoiled ambience ideally suited for walks in the woods, bird watching, biking or just plain relaxation, we have created an ideal facility for holidays on our farm. The concepts of farming and tourism have been integrated, offering our guests a variety of accommodation and services in a beautiful rural setting. The century old country house has been carefully refurbished and combined with the friendly and atmosphere will make your holiday something to remember. The house has been converted into five spacious, comfortable apartments and three rooms for our guests.
The farmhouse’s large garden is perfect for the children who adore the presence of the farmyard animals.
If you wish you can have a chance to experience, or to observe, some of the farming activities such as pinenut cultivation, and olive and grape harvesting. Since 1978 we have produced the fabulous full bodied D.O.C. wine Morellino di Scansano, white and rosè wines, grappa di Morellino and extra-virgin olive oil. These typical products can be tasted and purchased at the wine cellar of the farmhouse.

The wines of our cellar are: the whites, the well known high quality rosès, and particularly, the most important product is the deep red wine Morellino di Scansano D.O.C. either of the current year and "reserve" when after the first year of life it is aged in oak barrels for twelve months.
The Morellino di Scansano produced at the farmhouse from sangiovese, ciliegiolo and canaiolo grapes. The wine looks ruby red with garnet color reflections when aged; the nose is pungent and large, nicely winy when young, ethereal and austere if aged; the taste is dry, warm, round, slightly tannic with very delicate tastes that resemble berries. The alcohol volume varies depending on the year, from 12.5° to 13.8°. The fixed acidity ranges from 5.5 to 6 grams per litre. For its full bodied characteristics it's very appreciated in restaurants with the natural combination with red meat dishes, roasts and, most of all, with game dishes. We produce olive oil from the historic varieties olive trees, (frantoio 70%, leccino 20%, moraiolo and impollinatori 10%) which are cultivated respecting tradition, hand-picked and pressed within 24 hours. The olive oil we obtain is quite simply excellent extra virgin olive oil.Alberese 79 also produces Grappa di Morellino Sinibalda obtained from the distillation of our own Sangiovese grapes.
