Certaldo

Certaldo is the home of Giovanni Boccaccio, one of the fathers of the Italian language. The walls of the splendid village guard the remains of this novelist and his house, which has been turned into a rich library, well as the imposing "Palazzo Pretorio" the facade of which is embellished with beautiful coats of arms made of "serena" stone and glazed terracotta from the workshop of the Della Robbia family.
