Surroundings

Mugello: this is the birthplace of Giotto, but Mugello is famous for its artisans’ laboratories for shoemaking, leatherworking and ceramics, still popular and fully active today, at the edge of the forest zone, which zealously maintain the traditions of the country civilization and extraordinary natural beauty.
Places to see include Borgo San Lorenzo and the Museo della Manifattura (Manufacturing Museum) of the Chini family, the Museo delle Vite e del Vino (Wine and Vineyard Museum) of Rufina and the Museo della Vita Contadina (Museum of Country Life) in Sant’Agata.
Chianti: between the provinces of Florence and Siena, there are vineyards, olive groves and cypresses. This is the surprising landscape of a tour in Chianti, synonymous with more than wine.
Where the hills meet the Apennines, large and small towns tell of their medieval and Renaissance past: one view follows another of towers, ancient manors and important rural buildings, where the wine business and agritourism find an ideal location. An enchanting trip along the ‘Chiantigiana’ road leads from Siena to Castellina in Chianti, a medieval settlement of Etruscan origins.
Fiesole: in the fascinating region of Fiesole, just 5 km from Firenze 2460 Resort, is found the side of a significant polo European cultural: located in the former convent next to Badia Fiesolana, the prestigious Università Europea is open to students already having a university and has the objective of bringing together the various cultures in Europe.
Florence: Stop in Piazza del Duomo to admire the Cathedral di Santa Maria del Fiore, anticipating, with its Gothic Renaissance style, the enormous and spectacular cupola of Brunelleschi, an imposing work alongside the polychrome marble of the bell tower of Giotto; inside the cathedral, one of the largest religious cycles ever frescoed.
Not far off, the Galleria degli Uffizi makes Florence a major art city, displaying the works artists such as Botticelli, Raffaello, Caravaggio, Giotto and a collection of works unique in the world. Passing the bridge, Palazzo Pitti houses the Galleria d’Arte Moderna and anticipates with its princely form the beautiful Giardino di Boboli.
