Tuscany Montieri: Accommodation in Farmhouse

Farmhouse description

Location: nestled among the lush Tuscan hills of the community of Montieri (750 m above sea level) you find the farmhouse, an old fashioned, yet recently renovated, stone farmhouse with adjacent cabin.
Composition: guests have the use of 3 fully equipped apartments and are invited to make use of the spacious communal living room with a fireplace where it is possible to have a grill or you may choose to simply relax beside it.
Outside on the open lawn are tables, umbrellas, sunbeds and a BBQ.
The agriturismo takes advantage of energy saving technology and alternative resources like collecting rain water, use of solar energy for hot water and electricity and use of wood for heating.
What to do: you may wish to participate in guided environmental tours, hikes, horseriding, canoing, archery, excursions or perhaps pay a visit to the River Merse.
Nature: of particular importance is the Natural Reserve of Le Cornate, located alongside the neighbouring town of Gerfalco.
Furthermore, the park of "Il Piano" in Montieri hosts many local events, the most notable of which is the Chestnut Festival which takes place in October; a unique celebration where it is possible to taste a variety of chestnut-based dishes and to drink fine local wines.

Apartments

Description: the charming cabin contains two apartments that sleep 2 in addition to an adjacent apartment.
Each accommodation is comprised of a bedroom, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, tv, sofabed and automatic heating.
The two apartments in the cabin can be united or divided into single apartments that sleep 4 or 5.
At ground level there is a sizeable living room about 70 m2 with two toilets and is available to guests who may choose to take advantage of the large fireplace for preparing a grill as well as tables, chairs and a patio with panoramic views.
In the farmhouse, at ground level, is located an apartment of about 50m 2 with fully equipped kitchen, tv, couch, bed, bathroom and bedroom that sleeps 2-4 people.

Surroundings

Cities of art: the favourable location of the farmhouse allows for frequent visits to the nearby cities of art, such as San Gimignano with its beautiful towers; Siena, hosting it’s famous horserace, the Palio, on 2 July and 16 August; Florence with its many museums and monuments etc; Massa Marittima with it’s colourful Archery Festival in May and in August as well as the nearby Abbey of San Galgano which holds numerous events in July and August.
Spa: additionally, you find in the area Le Terme di Petriolo (Monticano) and Il Calidario (Venturina) where it is possible to take advantage of the natural hot springs and make a relaxing bath, therapy and/or massage.
Under reservation it is possible to have relaxing massages, facials, manicures etc. even in the Agriturismo.
Sea: perhaps you would prefer to travel to the sea along the Maremman coast where sandy beaches, beautiful pine forests and crystal-clear waters are found from the town of Follonica to the quaint seaside community of Castiglione della Pescaia.
