Farmhouse description
The farmhouse is located in the middle of woods, only a few kilometres away from San Gimginano and Volterra.It is an ideal place where you can relax and taste the typical produce of Tuscany and particularly of our area. You can also visit some of Italy’s most beautiful cities in art and history or else go for walks or bike-rides in the gentle surrounding hills and woods.On a small path leading through the woods, you can reach the nearby remains of Castelvecchio, an important Medieval archaeological settlement hidden in the green.
If you prefer to rest without going away, you can enjoy our huge garden, our cosy lounge or our swimming-pool with sun-meadow.Whichever season of the year you choose – you will feel fine with us! Our Fattoria is 25 km away from Volterra, 9 km from San Gimignano, 40 km from Siena, 50 km from Florence and 60 km from Pisa.
Dishes
The typical dishes we offer are made of ingredients produced on our farm. They have the flavour and taste of real home-made cooking of to the old Tuscan tradition. They are all extremely simple, focusing on typical fragrances. The same can be said for our special diets.
Back home you will certainly remember your vacation here and you will long for Mamma Emilia’s carefully prepared dishes you enjoyed in our dining-room or portico.

When you look at San Gimignano arriving from Poggibonsi or Colle Val d’Elsa you will notice some hills in the background. The highest of them is called Poggio del Comune, with the San Jacopino Valley behind. Here is Vagli. Volterra is further behind.The three provinces of Siena, Florence and Pisa converge here. It is a central area of Tuscany, quite highly populated, but unspoilt. All this makes it an ideal stage for many kinds of excursions. We prepared some itineraries you can follow on foot or on bike.Excursions on horse-back must be booked and agreed upon.
