HistoryThis palace, built in the middle of the 13th century, was the residence of the Gianfigliazzi family until the end of the 18th century, and was the seat of the celebrated "Casino de' Nobili" (The Aristocrat's Club).
Through the years a number of famous people and artists were guests to this illustrious family, such as Alessandro Manzoni, Vittorio Alfieri and King Louis Buonaparte.
From the beginning of the 20th century to the end of World War II, English aristocrats and intellectuals, charmed by Florence, chose the Pensione Piccioli in Via Tornabuoni, in this same building, as their favourite residence. The Tower is located at the beginning of Via dei Tornabuoni, just across the Santa Trinita bridge, and next to the Church of Santa Trinita.
